A former Ambassador, Alhaji Muhammad Jekada has declared that insecurity is the product of bad governance.
Ambassador Jekada disclosed this in an exclusive interview with newsmen in Gusau, Zamfara State capital.
He pointed out that the cause of insecurity facing the country was largely due to bad governance.
“Nigeria has been rated as the most corrupt country in the world because everybody wants to become rich very quickly without considering what happens to the country, States and Local Governments,” he lamented.
Jekada said that the leaders should understand the ultimate fact that people were now more delicate and sophisticated, capable of reacting and causing instability.
“Those in the government should feel the reactions of the people. The leaders should know that upheavals were connected to decisions of the governments at Federal, State and Local Government levels,” he said.
He advised that leaders should imbibe the spirit of executing wholesome transparency in government.
Alhaji Jekada advocated dialogue to resolve security challenges facing the country, cautioning that the use of military force would escalate the problems.
He advised that there was the need to sit down and talk things over.
